Airports & Travel Plan

  • Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY)

You may wish to fly directly to the Vineyard! Both larger commercial planes & smaller Cape Air planes can get you directly to the island in September. Please be mindful that if you book Cape Air separately, you may have issues checking a bag all the way to MV, whereas a carry-on should be no problem. JetBlue offers a service where you can bundle JetBlue & Cape Air flights, which can get your checked bag all the way through because they are booked together (otherwise TSA may make you pick up your bag at baggage claim before proceeding to your Cape Air flight).

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Once you arrive in Boston, you have the option to get on another small 30-45 minute Cape Air flight to the island or drive the 1.5-2 hours to the Wood’s Hole Steamship Authority terminal to begin your journey across the ocean! The ferry takes about 45-60 minutes and the ships dock at two island locations, Vineyard Haven (VH) & Oak Bluffs (OB). Please be sure to remember the docking locations & plan accordingly. Vehicles need reservations far in advance.
